COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols
The 2022 Forum Annual Conference will take place in the context of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which has devastated communities across the country, especially communities of color. While we are eager to reconnect with our friends and colleagues in person, we remain vigilant and are planning our in-person conference in Seattle with the utmost care and with consideration.
One of our top priorities is to create a safe environment for our attendees and we ask that each of our attendees help us in creating spaces where ALL our attendees will feel comfortable and understand that risk tolerances vary from person to person. We are relying on everyone to do their part to keep themselves and everyone else safe during the conference. At this time, these are the protocols we have in place to help ensure the safety of all participants.
United Philanthropy Forum reserves the right to update our policies at any time. Please continue to refer back to this website to keep up to date. If there is a significant shift in policy, we will email all conference registrants directly.

Vaccination Requirement
All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated to attend the meeting in person and must submit proof of vaccination through our provider IHP. Individuals are defined as fully vaccinated fourteen (14) days after getting their final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals are also required to have one booster shot, unless the original vaccination was completed within six months.
Only those individuals who have an approved reasonable accommodation for religious and medical will be able to attend the meeting in person. Accommodations will be made based on the honor system. Individuals who request and receive the exemption are required to submit a PCR test within 48 hours of the conference.
Proof of covid vaccination, booster, or exemption documentation will be submitted to our partner In House Physicians (IHP) for review and verification.
There is no extra app to download to your phone! All attendees should complete the verification form as soon as possible. IHP will send each attendee a PDF via email once verified - please save a copy of this PDF. IHP will share a list of verified attendees with the Forum, attendees should not need to provide anything additional at conference check-in.

Mask Requirement
Based on recent data available from the CDC and numerous research studies, masks will be required for attendees while indoors in the meeting spaces at the Seattle Westin unless you are actively eating and drinking including sessions, hallways, foyers and in Forum provided shuttles to off-site events. Masks must be worn over the nose and mouth.
Exceptions for attendees include:
Outdoor spaces (including site visits)
Indoors while actively eating or drinking
Speakers while presenting
While necessary for communicating with someone who is hearing impaired when the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication
PLEASE NOTE:
There is not currently a mask mandate at the conference hotel, so some employees and other hotel guests may not be wearing a mask during our event. Reference the CDC Guide to Masks.
Attendees should provide their own masks for the conference, though extra masks will be available at the registration desk (while supplies last)
Social Distancing & Physical Contact
There will be lanyards in three colors available for attendees at registration - red, yellow and green. These lanyards will serve as a non-verbal communication of physical contact preferences. While we have all missed being in person, not everyone will have the same comfort with hugs or handshakes.
COVID-19 Symptoms and Testing
Individuals should not attend the conference if they are COVID-positive, are exhibiting COVID symptoms (as defined by the CDC), or have been exposed to COVID-19, within 5 days prior to the event. If you are feeling sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, or test positive for COVID-19, prior to the start of the conference, please contact conference@unitedphilforum.org. We strongly encourage all in-person attendees to take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test at home prior to traveling to the conference, to mitigate the challenges of a positive test onsite.
Should you start experiencing any symptoms while at the conference, we will have a limited number of rapid diagnostic tests available at the registration desk. Please contact conference@unitedphilforum.org to report a positive test or have a test delivered to your hotel room door. Anyone with a positive test result should isolate themselves and quarantine according to CDC guidelines. Any expenses incurred as a result of a positive test, including any related to isolation or quarantine, will be the sole responsibility of the attendee. We have arranged with the hotel to offer the event's discounted room rate to anyone who needs to extend their stay to quarantine.
No person may participate in the conference if they become ill, or exhibit any signs and symptoms of COVID-19 during the conference. The Forum reserves the right to refuse entry to any participant who exhibits any symptoms of illness or who refuses to present any required documentation. We are relying on everyone to do their part to keep themselves and everyone else safe during the convening.
